Blaise Pascal, a French mathematician and physicist, once wrote:
“Je n’ai fait celle-ci plus longue que parce que je n’ai pas eu le loisir de la faire plus courte.”
In English: “I have made this one longer only because I did not have the leisure to make it shorter.”
The art is clarity: taking the time to decide what matters, then removing everything that doesn’t.
AI has made length cheap. But writing that respects the reader’s time still takes work.
Short is the luxury.
