Heard a phrase on a podcast earlier today that's stuck;
“It's very hard to step back from the soup when you're cooking in it.”
Anything new: decide on an immersion, head down, learn the set results on the board. But decide a second task underneath the first: how you want to operate. The soup makes that invisible. There's no natural pause that asks, “Is this working? How can I improve this workflow?” The pot keeps needing stirring.
Willpower won't fix it. Nobody thinks their way to perspective mid-shift. It has to be booked, a fixed hour, same time each week, for craft, not tasks.
Busy isn't the same as effective. It just feels like it.
NB.
